Join San Jose Woman’s Club members and friends in celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month and supporting women in transition at our fourth annual OktoBRAfest on Sunday, October 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the SJWC Clubhouse, 75 S. 11th St. in downtown San Jose. San Jose Councilmember Don Rocha is our honorary host. Get tickets at www.oktoBRAfest.eventbrite.com.
We've got lots of fun in store, including contests of skill (how many bras can you unhook?) the Ms. and Mr. OktoBRAfest Contest (wear your best lederhosen and your undergarments on the outside!), Live
German Music performed by the Twisted Pretzels Band, a Polka Demo, Dancing, and a Raffle for Fabulous Local Stay-cations.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and include a buffet of German classics: Sausage, Potato Salad, Sauerkraut, Bread, Dessert and one beer, cider or wine. (Vegan options too) Additional
beverages are available for a suggested donation of $5. All proceeds benefit The Family Album Project, providing healing and wholeness through photography, and our Be a Dear and Donate a Brassiere Group, which collects and distributes bras and undergarments for women in need.
- Thanks to Gordon Biersch Brewing Company and WILDCIDE Hard Cider for providing the beer and cider for OktoBRAfest.
